SLOVAKIA
Slovakia is a landlocked country in Central Europe and Bratislava is its capital.
For its size, Slovakia has an incredible number of castles : 220 !
Specific samples of sacred architecture in Slovakia are the wooden churches. Among the oldest are the Gothic wooden churches (for example Hervartov, Tvrdosin). The “articled” churches are other type of wooden churches (for instance Lestiny, Kezmarok, Hronsek). Wooden churches of the Slovak part of Carpathian Mountain Area, which were added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2008.
Slovakia has nine national parks, which cover a relatively big portion of the country and feature the tallest part of the Carpathian Mountain Range, the High Tatras
