Turkey was the center of the ottoman empire which was one of the biggest and most powerful states in the world and today tourists can enjoy the architectural wonders of this ancient world​. The Aegean and Mediterranean coasts of Turkey are scattered with ancient ruins (lycian, greek, roman, byzantine, ottoman..).
