​TURKEY - Aphrodisias

Aphrodisias is located inland in the Southern Aegean region and is one of the finest archaeological sites of Turkey, still partly excavated.  The name of the city is derived from the goddess of love, Aphrodite – called Venus by Romans- , who has her famous sanctuary here. As an archaeological site, it contains some of the most impressive Roman ruins in Turkey.
