Saint Pierre and Miquelon (FR)

Saint Pierre

Saint Pierre and Miquelon is a very small french archipelago and a self-governing territorial overseas collectivity of France, situated in the northwestern Atlantic Ocean near Canada. It is the only remnant of the former colonial empire of New France that remains under French control, with a population around 6,000. The islands are situated at the entrance of Fortune Bay, which extends into the southern coast of Newfoundland, near the Grand Banks.
Saint Pierre is the main city of the archipelago and is connected to many canadian cities by www.airsaintpierre.com.
We recommend also the visit of Îles-aux-Marins for a return in the past (10 minutes by boat in high season only) and Miquelon (connected by ferry), and also to the "Le Colombier" tiny island for its birds.
