ARGENTINA - Province of Jujuy - Tilcara - Humahuaca - Quebrada de Humahuaca - Purmamarca - La Quiaca

The Quebrada de Humahuaca (Worl Heritage Site since 2003) is a mountain valley that has been in use as a cultural route between the Andean highlands and the plains for over 11000 years. The valley, carved out by the Rio Grande, is around 150 km. long. The river is dry in winter but flows copiously through the Quebrada in the summer.
Tilcara and Purmamarca are charming villages with restaurants, hotels and shops. Purmamarca is located at the Quebrada de Purmamarca. Nearby, the Cerro de los Siete Colores (Hill of the Seven Colours) shows its colourful landscape.La Quiaca is a town located at the bolivian border and is the end of the mythic Road 40 (Ruta 40) running between Ushuaia and La Quiaca on more than 5500 kilometers.
