JAPAN - Hokkaido - Sapporo
Hokkaido is the second largest island of Japan and Sapporo, the largest city and its capital. Hokkaido is the Japan's coldest region with relatively cool summers and icy/snowy winters.
Sapporo hosted the 1972 Winter Olympics (the first ever held in Asia). Its annual Sapporo Snow Festival draws more than 2 million tourists from abroad.
Today, Sapporo is a very modern city with skyscrapers but it's the hub Hokkaido natural wonders. New Chitose airport is the airport of Sapporo.
In april, we were able to admire the iconic cherry blossoms called Sakura in Japan when it was too late in Tokyo.
