Mangistau Peninsula
Mangistau is bordered by the Caspian sea, the largest enclosed inland body of water on earth, and its called the Treasure Peninsula Region with a rich cultural heritage, oil, gas, raw materials and minerals. One of the most famous tourist routes is the Silk Road, stretching across Mangistau region from south to north, and further to the northwest, to the Ustyurt Plateau and through the Shetpinskie Gates to the Caspian coast.
