Hawaii is one of the youngest geological formations in the world with some of the world's most active volcanoes and the world's tallest sea mountain. The island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands and is formed from two shield volcanoes that overlapped one another.
Lahaina is  one of the main tourist attractions on Maui, and was once a historic whaling village which has been transformed into a tourist center with many restaurants, art galleries and museums.
