Martha's Vineyard
Martha's Vineyard is an island located 8 miles off the Cape Cod peninsula in Massachusetts, accessible only by boat and air and known for being an affluent summer colony. Once a whaling center, it has become a favorite summertime haven of many celebrities. It is the 57th largest island in the United States and third largest on the eastern seaboard. The year-round population is around 17,000 residents, although the summer population can swell to more than 100,000 people.
