Panama - Canal and Locks

The are many ways to visit the Panama Canal, the engineering marvel that provides a passage from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. The country of Panama itself, along with its most famous tourist attraction, has become one of the fastest-growing travel destinations in the world. You can easily get to the canal if you're visiting the country, and watch the ships take part of their eight-hour journey from one ocean to another. Or better yet, you can experience the thrill of traveling through the canal aboard a cruise ship.

Colon is the atlantic entrance of the canal and has been forgotten by canal's economic miracle and has a scary reputation for street crime. It's closed to the more impressive canal locks : Gatun and is also the door to 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites : Portobelo and San Lorenzo.
