The Maroni river originates in the Tumuk Humak Mountains and is the border between French Guiana and Suriname.
The city of Albina is facing the french city of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni on the other site of the Maroni river. Many small villages with few houses are spread along the banks of Maroni River.
