CHILE - Valparaiso

Valparaiso is one of Chile’s most vibrant sea-side cities facing the Pacific coast.
Valparaiso is referred to by Chileans as simply ‘Valpo’, it is situated around 120kms west of the capital Santiago, which is about one and half hours by car. The city is widely known for its bohemian culture, brightly colored houses,  beautiful seaside views and intriguing nightlife.

The city was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003. From the flat city center you can walk along the sea side road towards the ascensores (funicular lifts) creaking up and down an acute angle taking curious visitors up the chaotic cerros (hills), with their steep labyrinthine roads and crumbling mansions. The gorgeous views from the top of the hill will have everyone snapping away at it’s picturesque harbor.
