Jabiru Storks
The Jabiru Stork can be found all over the Pantanal and it is the largest flying bird in South America. The Jabiru lives in large groups near water, and eats prodigious quantities of fish, molluscs and amphibians. It will occasionally eat small mammals, reptiles or bird eggs.
Around August, Jabiru (both parents) are building a nest of sticks on tall trees, and enlarged at each succeeding season growing to several meters in diameter.
