Shetland islands

Shetland, also called the Shetland Islands, is a subarctic archipelago that lies northeast of the island of Great Britain. The islands lie some 80 km (50 mi) to the northeast of Orkney and 280 km (170 mi) southeast of the Faroe Islands. Shetland islands have been continuously inhabited since Neolithic times and the excavations at Jarlshof near the southern end of the Mainland have provided archaeological evidence of life in Shetland since Bronze Age times.
The larger island is called Mainland Shetland and you will probably arrive at Sumburgh airport. The other large are Yell and Unst, accessible by ferry.
