​TURKEY - Anatolia - Side

Side is one of the best-known classical sites in Anatolia, founded in antiquity, on the southern coast of Turkey, in the province of Antalya. The town rests between the Taurus Mountains and beautiful sandy beaches along the Mediterranean. According to inscriptions, archaeological documents and ancient writers, Athena is the major deity of Side. Athena’s temple is located at the south part of the city and east of the harbor.
