URFA (Sanliurfa)

The venerably old towns of Urfa (Sanliurfa) are located In South Eastern Anatolian. According to both the Bible and Quran it is the birthplace of Abraham. The visitor can visit the mosque complex surrounding Abraham's Cave and The Pool of Sacred Fish (Balikligöl) around it.
Sanliurfa Fortress is on the northern slope of Damlacik mountain to the south of the city. The citadel built by the Romans was later enlarged.
Gobekli Tepe is located near Urfa and you can visit the remains of one of  the earliest religious structures built by man (11000-13000 years old).
