​Ticino (also called Tessin) is the southernmost canton of Switzerland which borders Italy and where Italian is the sole official language.

Lugano lies on Lake Lugano, surrounded by the mountains of the Lugano Prealps. Its warm summers and the fact that in recent years it has attracted an ever growing number of tourists and celebrities.

Locarno is located on the northern shore of Lago Maggiore and display 2,300 hours of sunshine per year and a church established after an appearance of the Virgin Mary.
