Jerez de la Frontera, or simply Jerez, is a fertile zone for agriculture and for cattle ranches and horse-breeding operations, as well as a world-renowned wine industry (Xerez). The Jerez Cathedral is a beautiful building from the 17th century which combines Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles
The Alcazar is a Moorish fortress/palace built by the Abbadid rulers in the early 10th century and later converted into a Christian stronghold. This complex covers a mosque (used later as a church), Arab baths, several towers (one of which is octagonal), pretty gardens with a fountain, cloistered patios and the Palacio Villavicencio from the 18th century.
