Novi Pazar is a city in southwestern Serbia, located 300 kilometers from Belgrade on the road that leads to Kraljevo and Raska. The city lies at the mouth of the Josanica and Raska rivers. With arrow Ottoman-style alleyways, small shops, old-fashioned houses with wooden terraces, a small fortress in the city centre and numerous mosques, the city has an oriental air.
