​PORTUGAL - Braga

Braga is a city and it is host to the oldest Portuguese archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church and the seat of the Primate Archbishop of Portugal.  Under the Roman Empire, then known as Bracara Augusta, the settlement was the capital of the province of Gallaecia. Inside of the city there is also a castle tower that can be visited.
Bom Jesus do Monte is a Sanctuary and a notable example of pilgrimage site with a monumental, Baroque stairway that climbs 116 meters (381 feet). It is an important tourist attraction of Braga.
It is located at 20 kilometers from Guimaraes and 50 kms north of Porto.
