NETHERLANDS - Rotterdam
Rotterdam is the second largest city in the country (behind Amsterdam) and famous for its port which is the fourth largest port in the world. From 1962 to 2004 it was the busiest port in the world and since then it has been replaced by Shanghai. The center of Rotterdam offers a comprehensive overview of what the 20th century produced in terms of modern architecture, but unfortunately most of the old buildings and houses have disappeared. Rotterdam is a big city without charm and without tourist interest compared to Amsterdam, The Hague or Delft.
