Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert
Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is a village in the Hérault department located in the narrow valley of the Gellone river where it meets the steep sided gorge of the Hérault River. Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is a pretty medieval village located on the Chemin de St Jacques (St James' Way) pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella and is famous for the Abbey of Gellone listed by UNESCO in 1999.
