Alpes-de-Haute-Provence is a department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southeastern France. Its main cities are Digne-les-Bains, Manosque, Sisteron, and Forcalquier. It's a vast area with various landscapes and villages.
Forcalquier is towards the eastern edge of the Luberon region, and is surrounded by the attractive traditional Provencal landscapes of lavender and olives. The city is built around the slopes of a steep hill, crowned by an octagonal chapel where the medieval citadel stood until it was destroyed in 1601.
