Cotentin - Barfleur
The Cotentin Peninsula is located on the northwest coast of France. It extends north-westward into the English Channel, towards Great Britain. To its west lie the Channel Islands and to the southwest lies the Brittany Peninsula.
Barfleur was one of the most prominent port towns in northern France. Today, Barfleur is primarily a fishing town, but is also a beautiful place to visit. It has rocky shores, sandy beaches, and excellent views of the Atlantic, especially at sunset. The slightly austere yet peaceful structures of this town mostly date from the town’s most prominent era, the 17th and 18th centuries.
