FRANCE - Beaujolais
Beaujolais is one of the most well-known wines in the world and it takes its name from the historical Province of Beaujolais, located north of Lyon. The "Beaujolais Wine Route" is running from St. Amour, going through the different “crus” and towns, to Lozanne. A 140 km route to discover the Beaujolais through its vineyards, its people and its history.
Southern Beaujolais is a lively and luminous region, dotted with ochre-yellow stone built villages that reflect the sun. This stone produces a whole array of warm sundrenched colours giving originality and charm to this area. This unique building material is to be seen everywhere. It has been used to build the houses and châteaux, the churches and washhouses, the wells and little walls.
