FRANCE - Auvergne
Aubrac
Aubrac is a volcanic and granitic plateau and the main city is Laguiole. The volcanic eruptions occurred between 6 and 9 million year ago, but all the region has been eroded by glaciers during three glacial periods.
Aubrac has its own bovine species called "Aubrac", which is well adapted to the environment and bovine breeding is the main activity on the plateau. Aubrac is also a small village, and also a cheese made with the local milk.
