​Egeskov Castle, the house as we see it today, was built by Frands Brockenhuus and was completed in 1554. For 460 years, Egeskov has stood in its beautiful location in the landscape of Southern Funen and is famous for being one of the best preserved moat castle in Europe.

Faaborg or Fåborg is an old port town located on Faaborg Fjord on the island of Funen. With its busy port, narrow streets and attractive old houses, the town is popular with tourists, particularly in the summer months.
