FRANCE - Around Paris - Barbizon
The village of Barbizon is located 60 kilometers South of Paris and is comprised of one long main street, lined with art studios of the past converted into museums, galleries and restaurants. The village was famous for the Barbizon School of painters is named after the village; Théodore Rousseau and Jean-François Millet, leaders of the school, made their homes and died in the village.
