FRANCE - Corsica - Cucuruzzu - Capula - Bavella Needles - Zonza

The Bronze-Age Cucuruzzu site is located near the village of Levie (near Zonza) and incorporates natural elements such as large blocks of granite rock and piles of stones constituting the walls made by man at that time. To see these sites, a marked path descends gently into a valley where you can reach the main points of interest of the site, in particular the fortress from which you will have an exceptional view of the surroundings and the famous Aiguilles de Bavella. . . The scenic loop to visit all the sites is about 3 kilometers and is remarkable with huge round boulders. The "Casteddu de Cucuruzzu (Cucuruzzu Castle)" is a fortified village which has a tower 8 meters in diameter and 4 to 5 meters high, making it one of the most important monumental sites in the region of the Alta Rocca. Continuing a walk in the undergrowth, we reach the “Casteddu Medieval Capula” at the foot of which there is a menhir statue also dating from the Bronze Age.
