FRANCE - Alsace - Strasbourg

Strasbourg is the capital and largest city of the Grand Est region of France and is the official seat of the European Parliament. Located at the border with Germany in the historic region of Alsace, it is the capital of the Bas-Rhin department.
The city is chiefly known for its sandstone gothic cathedral with its famous astromonical clock, and for its medieval cityscape of black and white timberframed buildings, particularly in the Petite-France district ("tanners' district") alongside the Ill and in the streets and squares surrounding the cathedral.
