GREENLAND (Denmark) -Eastern Coast

Greenland is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark, located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. In East Greenland, you will find rugged and steep mountains, which surround deep fjords and impressive glaciers. East Greenland differs markedly from the west coast of Greenland, both in terms of the number of inhabitants, the number of visitors, and nature itself. Wildlife is very diverse with polar bears, humpback whales, musk oxen, walruses, reindeers, sea eagles... Until 120 years ago, the East Greenlanders lived in isolation from the rest of the world, and this is still evident. Unlike the west coast, there are very few inhabitants and villages on the east coast. And good to know: Greenland is the largest island in the world but one of the smallest for the population. The middle of the island is almost inaccessible because it is a very deep ice field. And most of the coasts are bordered by very high mountains making access difficult.
