AUSTRIA - Schonbrunn Palace
Schonbrun Palace, near Vienna, was the Imperial Summer Residence.
The magnificent ensemble consisting of palace and gardens was the resplendent centre of imperial court life. Following the end of the monarchy, the imperial splendour was preserved through a high level of commitment, and to this very day Schönbrunn Palace provides the worthy setting for grand official receptions and festive banquets.
In 1996 the palace and park complex was named an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
