
TURKMENISTAN - Ashgabat
Ashgabat is the capital city of Turkmenistan and has been founded in 1881 as a fortification and named after the nearby settlement of Askhabad (means beloved city in Turkmen). After exiting the Soviet Union, the city gained many high-rise residential buildings, mostly made of white marble. A lot of original buildings or monuments are spreaded all over the city. Ashgabat is also the economical and political center of the country.
