Tana Toraja - Pasar Bolu Market
The Pasar Bolu is the traditional market held every 6 days : be sure to go there the days they sell water buffalo and pigs for the upcoming funeral ceremonies. You will see an amazing cattle market where are sold hundreds of pigs tied to bamboos and water-buffaloes held by the leash.
The prices are amazing : 4000 to 6000 Usd for a standard buffalo, 7000 up to 12000 Usd for a spotted albino and 800 Usd for a pig. And you understand how expensive are the funeral ceremonies where many of these animals are slaughtered.
