Tongkonan : the Torajan traditional House
Tongkonan is a traditional house of Toraja people. Tongkonan have a distinguishing boat-shaped and oversized saddleback roof consisting of bamboo structure (currently some new tongkonan are using zinc roof) and are built on piles. At the front there is rows of water buffalo horns. In front there tongkonan rice granary. Both buildings are painted with traditional Torajan patterns.
