Semenggok Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
This is the best place in Sarawak to view Borneo’s most famous residents, the orangutans, who have been rescued from captivity and deforestation. Here, they are trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. The rehabilitated animals roam freely in the rainforest, and often return to the centre during their feeding time. As the orang utan in Semonggok are semi-wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed, specially when fruits are available in the rainforest.
