INDIA - Karnataka - Mysore
Mysore (also called Mysuru) was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore from 1399 to 1947.
It was the erstwhile capital of the Wodeyar dynasty and is considered the cultural capital of Karnataka. In its center is opulent Mysore Palace which blends Hindu, Islamic, Rajput and Gothic styles, and is dramatically lit at night. Mysore is also home to the centuries-old Devaraja Market, filled with spices, silk and sandalwood.
