CHINA - Yunnan - Shangri-La

Tiger Leaping Gorge

Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest gorges on the planet and the valley is part of a UNESCO natural preservation area called the Three Parallel Rivers World Heritage Site. According to tradition a tiger once leapt across the gorge, which is only 30 metres wide at its narrowest point. The gorge is a truly stunning spectacle, as the rushing waters hasten to join the mighty flow of the Yangtze far downstream.
Reminder : The Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia and the 3rd longest in the world. It flows for 6,418 kilometers (3,988 mi) from the glaciers on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau in Qinghai before emptying into the China Sea at Shanghai. It is also one of the biggest rivers by discharge volume in the world.
