VIETNAM - Halong Bay

Situated in the north-east region of Viet Nam, Halong Bay (or Ha Long Bay) is famous for its scenic ocean karst topography and is often included in lists of natural wonders of the world. Ha long Bay is located in the area of the Gulf of Tangkia. It has an area of 1,500 square kilometers and has a coastline about 120 kilometers away from Hanoi. There are two popular kinds of cruise itineraries in Halong Bay, day cruise and overnight cruise.

If you are on a pre-booked tour, you will depart from Cat Ba Island where you will find hundreds of boats, transporting thousands of tourists every day. If you are an independant traveler or on a private tour, we advice you to avoid the overcrowded part of the Halong Bay and go to Bai Chay Wharf to find a cruise corresponding to you and your budget. We also advice you to avoid activities like kayaking or visit caves as the interest is low (for an expensive rate) and to concentrate on a pure cruise to admire the beauty of Halong Bay.
