Luzon is the largest and most populous island located in the northern region of the Philippines archipelago, it is the economic center of the nation, being home to the country's capital city, Manila.
The World Heritage City of Vigan was captured and settled by the Spanish in 1572, and grew to become a centre of Spanish political and religious power in the north of Luzon.
Banaue is a town on the Cordillera mountain range in the north of Luzon. It is mainly visited for its stunning rice terraces, which are a UNESCO World Heritage site.
