INDIA - Assam - Kaziranga NP

Assam shares it’s borders in the North and East with the Kingdom of Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh and is traversed by the mighty Brahmaputra River, which winds its way across the fertile plains and brings life to the villages and towns along its banks.
Assam has successfully conserved the one-horned Indian rhinoceros (unicorn) from extinction, along with the tiger and numerous species of birds, and it provides one of the last wild habitats for the Asian elephant.
Kaziranga National Park is a World Heritage Site which hosts two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses. According to the census held in March 2018, the rhino population in Kaziranga National Park is 2,413. Kaziranga is home to one of the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world, and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006 (now the highest tiger density is in Orang National Park, Assam) . The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer.
