ARGENTINA - Mendoza
Mendoza is located in a region of foothills and high plains, on the eastern side of the Andes. The city makes a good base for a visit of the region, with hotels, restaurants and bars in the historic center, and a mix of architecture that showcases Art Deco alongside ’60s and '70s modern architecture. Two of the main industries of the Mendoza area are olive oil production and Argentine wine which is the largest wine producing area in Latin America. As such, Mendoza is one of the nine Great Wine Capitals just a short drive away of vineyards, and the city is an emerging enotourism destination and base for exploring the region's hundreds of wineries located along the Argentina Wine Route.
Also, if you have time, you can visit Aconcagua National Park (around 200 kms from Mendoza).
