Sierra Leone - Southern area
The Southern aera is close to Liberia and in 2019, few roads were paved (between large towns) but some roads were mostly unpaved crossing typical villages and see how the people is living in this remote area. A 4WD vehicule is advised on such bumpy road and few basic lodges are available.
Guide books are pushing tourists to see Tiwai island, but it was disappointing and it was just an island with a forest without any visible wildlife as all tourists are going at the same location. So we don't recommend it.
