Republic of the Congo  - Brazzaville - Pointe Noire

Congo, officially the Republic of the Congo, also known as Congo-Brazzaville is a country located on the western coast of Central Africa to the west of the Congo River. It is separated from the Democratic Republic of the Congo,by the Congo River.

The region was dominated by Bantu-speaking tribes at least 3,000 years ago, who built trade links leading into the Congo River basin. Congo was formerly part of the French colony of Equatorial Africa. The Republic of the Congo  gained independence from France in 1960. Brazzaville is the capital city of Republic of Congo. The city of Pointe-Noire is located on the Atlantic Ocean and is the economic capital of the Republic of Congo.

The Conkouati-Douli National Park is a UNESCO-recognised coastal national park. It is home to fauna typical of forest ecosystems of the Congo including elephant, buffalo, gorillas, leopards, chimpanzees,  mandrill and more..
