National Park

The Bazaruto archipelago consists of six islands (Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Sta. Carolina, Banque and Pansy Shell Island). They are situated off main land between Vilanculos and Inhassoro (around 800 km from Maputo).

The Bazaruto National Park is a protected area on the Bazaruto Archipelago. The islands have a lush tropical climate and include huge dunes, forest and savannah, inland lakes and wetlands. The terrestrial wildlife includes birds, reptiles, antelopes.. and the marine life includes humpback whales, marine turtles, spinner, humpback and bottlenose dolphins, marlins, barracudas...
