Liberia - Monrovia
Liberia is a country on the West African coast. It is bordered by Sierra Leone to its northwest, Ivory Coast to its east, Guinea to its north, and the Atlantic Ocean to its south-southwest.
Liberia began as a settlement of the American Colonization Society (ACS), who believed black people would face better chances for freedom and prosperity in Africa than in the United States. The country declared its independence on July 26, 1847. Liberia was the first African republic to proclaim its independence, and is Africa's first and oldest modern republic.
Monrovia is the capital city and the country's most populous city with a a vibrant vibe on the street.. Founded on April 25, 1822, Monrovia was the second permanent African American settlement in Africa after Freetown, Sierra Leone. Monrovia's economy is shaped primarily by its harbour and its role as the location of Liberia's government offices.
The city center is the image of a tropical capital, melting in the hot sun and is, lined with palm trees and paint-chipped buildings. To be honest, there is not much to do, see, nor buy in the city center.
