Ghana is located along the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean, in the subregion of West Africa. Ghana borders Côte d'Ivoire to the west, Burkina Faso to the north and Togo to the east. The word Ghana means "Warrior King" and is derived from the ancient Ghana Empire. Its capital is Accra on the Atlantic coast.
Tourism in Ghana is growing very quickly, and more tour operators are seeing increased requests for Ghana as a travel destination. Many tourists come from the diaspora which wants to visit their ancestors land and the slave route.
