BEST TIME to TRAVEL to MASSAWA and Red Sea

From December to February

In 2024, the streets of Massawa are quiet, the buildings of the old city are falling into ruin and many of the inhabitants have left. Decades of conflict, international sanctions and isolationist policies have suffocated the city. We hope that a conservation plan can restore the magnificent buildings with their unique architecture.
