Djibouti is situated in the Horn of Africa on the Gulf of Aden and the southern entrance to the Red Sea. Djibouti is situated in the Horn of Africa on the Gulf of Aden and the southern entrance to the Red Sea. Djibouti is a multi-ethnic nation with a population around 1 million, with a majority of Afars and Somalis. Djibouti is strategically located near the world's busiest shipping lanes, controlling access to the Red Sea and Indian Ocean and was formerly a french colony since the independence in 1977.

We only visit Djibouti city so far, but we can't say it's an attractive city : very expensive visa, unmaintained buildings, not much to see and not really clean.
